How would this have turned out?

This is probably the last point in which the possibility of a businessman candidate could come out of the Democratic Party.

Also, Bush Sr wasn't really popular and had the luck of facing off against someone with less charisma and one significant peace of baggage.

But Iacocca didn't have any of those specific downsides, but lack of political experience would probably resonate more...and Reagan was still wildly popular [rather than popular with an edge like Bill or just over the line like Obama].
