McMullin may fit better in the Democratic Party thanks to the both parties changing their tunes on trade and internationalism.

lol what?

The Democrats have become the party in favor of globalism and free-trade agreements while the Republicans have begun to oppose both when they supported them under the Reagan era. One factor causing this shift has been the change in party bases.

Did you watch the DNC?!  Jesus, dude.

Considering how strongly GOP the state is otherwise, could the only way the Democrats win Hatch's Senate seat in 2018 is by running spoiler candidate Evan McMullin as a Democrat? The man's entire run in 2016 for President was just to sink Donald Trump, and even after the election ended, McMullin has begun a Twitter tirade against Trump. McMullin may fit better in the Democratic Party thanks to the both parties changing their tunes on trade and internationalism. Of course, this all depends if Hatch runs again or not.

Thoughts?

You Trumpists live in a truly delusional world.  The ELECTED OFFICIALS of the GOP are still strongly in favor of free trade (while elected Democrats still aren't), and that will remain true until they all retire.  Trump could have been talking about being pro-free trade, and his followers would think that, too.
Yeah, Obama totally wasn't elected.

Yeah those free trade agreements accelerated the loss of manufacturing jobs in the rust belt.

But, now that they will not be coming back, I fear all gutting free trade agreements will do is spur us into another big recession.

Tweaking them may be fine. Repealing them, No.

Free Trade Now, Free Trade Tomorrow, Free Trade FOREVER!

Yeah, Obama totally wasn't elected.

I was clearly referring to the (very large) majority of Congressional Democrats who oppose free trade initiatives and the huge majority of Republicans who support them.

How did Bush 43 being in favor of immigration reform carry forward?

If McMullin runs, it will be as a Republican.

Orman and McM are very different.. Orman's position is not much to the right of CMc, while McMullin's position is nowhere be found in the Democratic caucus.
