Why no option for British? Lots of people here love spotted dick and f****ts. )Those are actually the names of two British dishes btw, so I'm not being a bigot.)

German, because I'm loyal to my heritage.  LOL, just kidding.

Have to go with Italian.  It was damn near unbelievable how much better the pizza was there than even the best stuff we've got in the US (though, they are very different).  American is actually pretty close behind, as it's hard to beat a great burger and BBQ outside on a summer day.

German cuisine is underappreciated.  I really love German cuisine... especially for comfort food.

I've made Serviettenknoedel before... "napkin dumplings"... you take day old bread (hopefully homemade!) cut it into crouton sized pieces and soak it in milk and seasoning (nutmeg is common).  I usually then add sauteed onions that includes a bit of bouillon and other seasoning (a little bit of sage, pepper, and thyme don't hurt) and also egg.  Roll it into a log and wrap it in a cloth napkin, tying the ends... then simmer it in just simmering water for an hour.

Take it out, slice it into half to 3/4" slices and fry on a skillet with butter or bacon fat.  Serve with lingonberry preserves or gravy.  HOpefully with slow roasted meat, some pickles/relishes, and maybe a small green salad.  Good enough for Sunday dinner if you ask me!

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

If I had to go with a normal people food choice, Southern comfort food is amazing (I guess it would be considered American, not sure how it's meant to be defined on here, since different areas have much different tastes in food).
