Donald Trump will attempt a run in 2024, but at his rallies he will warm the crowd up for five minutes before handing the mic over to a local surrogate. Everyone outside of his cult will see this as a sign of his rapid decline, but he'll still get around 15% of the vote in the first few nominating contests before fading into irrelevance.

Wow this aged well.  But then again, it wasn't a hard prediction to make.

[Wrong about 2024 Ghost]

It's very hard right now to see which way the fish that make up the Republican party are going to turn, which makes this difficult.  Plus, I hope I'm very wrong with some of these. I really wish I had more positive predictions, but this doesn't seem the time for it.  I worry I'm tempting fate by not predicting worse stuff.


Before 2025:

A semi-expected global shock: Russian or China invade a neighboring state, Iran tests a nuclear device, there's global depression, new American-led war, or revolution in a G20 nation.

There's a major climate-change driven disaster, not necessarily in the US, that Republicans refuse to admit has anything to do with climate change.

The Republicans "win" a close election at the state level via lawsuit and having objectively legal ballots thrown out.

There's a significant US military failure.

A vaccination-related lawsuit makes it to the Supreme Court and Jacobson v. Massachusetts gets cited.

The Biden/Harris administration does something that really angers the left and has leftists talking about not voting/voting 3rd party (or even voting Republican) in the 2024 election. And it ends up about as significant as Bernie supporters in 2020 who weren't going to vote.

There is another domestic Republican-inspired terrorist attack on the scale of the Captiol assault or larger (in terms of lives lost, injuries, and damage done).

One of: Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris or a Supreme Court Justice suddenly dies or is incapacitated.
