Regarding NC, Ross is one of the few Democratic Senate candidates this year who isn't absolutely terrible. I'll probably still endorse Burr or Haugh because I don't want Democrats to win back the Senate, but Burr is one of my least favorite Republicans in the Senate and I would be fine with Ross winning. I've never liked Burr, he kind of represents everything wrong with the Republican Party (though McCain and Kirk are definitely worse than him).
Don't know too much about Burr, but I enthusiastically support him because it is really fun to say I #FeelTheBurr. Also I don't like Ross since she seems like she's part of the Bernie wing, and has come across as really soft on crime.

Has anyone in Ohio since WW2 ever did better then Kasich 2014 in an statewide race
In 2004, George Voinovich won every county in his Senate reelection bid. That's the only time (post-WWII) any candidate has swept every county in Ohio. In terms of margin, I'm not sure which was bigger.
