Third item on the docket - and our first policy release:
The Atlasian Conservative party supports the following statements:
1) Marriage is defined to be the union of one man and one woman. People are free, through freedom of association to form relationships with whomever they choose, however the state will only recognize the marriage of one man and one woman.
The justification for this law is that the State has an interest in self-propagation. As homosexual relationships cannot bear fruit within their unions, there is a substantial difference between the union of a man and a woman and a union of two men or two women.
Consequently:
2) Any and all state, federal and local benefits granted to spouses shall only be provided to marital relationships. There will not be support from the governmental entities for any sort of non-marital relationships. Businesses are free to provide whatever benefits they believe are best for their employees, and will not be affected by changes in federal and state laws of atlasia. This will includes survivor benefits, pensions, etc. However, as the Atlasian Conservative Party believes that individuals should have the right to control their own affairs, we encourage people to designate their heirs within their wills so that their assets can be transferred to those they wish to control their assets.
3) Immigration spousal visas will only be provided to those in marital relationships between one man and one woman. Resident visas will not be provided to those in non-marital relationships.
4) All state-run institutions for adoption agencies will only place children with families with two married parents, a husband and a wife. As we believe that children have the natural right to a mother and a father, the state has no right to deprive them of this. Whereas individuals have the right to arrange adoptions as they see fit, all adoption agencies will be required to register with the state and to abide by these placement laws.
5) State-run institutions, such as schools, shall not teach that homosexuality is natural and will teach that marriage is an institution between one man and one woman.
6) All organizations run by the state, including schools, and hospitals shall not base their hiring decisions or accommodations based on 'sexual orientation'. Laws based on sexual orientation are no longer in effect. Hospitals are no longer required to provide immediate access to family members based on sexual orientation, although individuals will be able to designate someone through power of attorney.
7) Current laws providing marital licenses to those who are not one man and one woman, or adoptions will be considered null and void. Those in adoptions will have to reapply for placements and those in non-marital relationships will no longer receive spousal benefits from the state.
And by extensions to these laws:
Businesses are not required to supply business to any clients that arrive at their door. A business is free to decline business for whatever reason the business chooses. If a Christian baker chooses not to supply a cake for a pride parade on the basis of their freedom of conscience, then they will be immune from prosecution along these lines.
9) Businesses that have shut down in the past 10 years and have a credible claim to harassment by homosexual organizations shall receive benefits from the state, equal to their profits prior to the initiation of the harassment, and including all fines and fees levied against them by the state or any other level of government within atlasia.
10) Individuals that have received termination within the past 10 years will also receive benefits equivalent to one year of employment that they would have otherwise received should they provide substantive evidence that their termination was based on their opposition to homosexuality.
11) No state shall be required to provide benefits for any sort of fertility treatment, including IVF, etc. While people are free to pay out of pocket for these services, the state will not provide benefits for them.
12) Through freedom of religion, all churches are protected from the following: first no church will be required to hire or provide benefits to any homosexual man or woman, second, the church is free to hire and fire these individuals for whatever reasons the church deems appropriate. They will not be required to provide any benefits whatsoever after termination. three, no church will be required to take homosexuals into their leadership and are free to terminate those involved in leadership and four, the church is protected in the freedom of expression of the bible and all content pertaining to the bible, both inside the church and in the public sphere. We believe that Christians have a right to be educated as Christians free of state interference and have the right to protect themselves from intrusions of outsiders.
13) Any individual choosing to violate these laws or interfere with the normal operation of a Christian school or assembly will be arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing for a first offense. Subsequent offenses will receive a felony conviction.
Extensions to the laws:
14) The state shall not provide any recognition along the lines of 'transsexual individuals', nor shall they provide associated benefits to said individuals.
15) Individuals are required within state run institutions to use the bathroom according to their natural sex. Bathrooms that are currently built to accommodate, "non-specific genders" are to be repurposed. Businesses are free to designate their bathrooms in whatever fashion they choose.
16) Laws regarding references to 'incorrect pronouns' of fining businesses, individuals and churches, are null and void. No individual will be prosecuted for calling a man a man or a woman a woman, even if said man and woman would prefer a different pronoun.
17) Laws regarding state benefits to hormone therapy are rescinded. While those desiring hormone therapy are free to pay for them out of pocket, the state will not provide benefits for hormone therapy.
18) The state will ban so called 'gender reassignment surgery'. As proven by John Hopkins, the surgery has no therapeutic benefit to the patient, in that patients after the surgery are more likely to commit suicide than those before having the surgery.
19) The state will ban the use of puberty blockers on the grounds that it is child abuse. Children have the right to normal development without interference from others. We don't permit parents to bind their children's feet, nor should we permit them to use puberty blockers on their children.
20) The state will now permit individuals over the age of 18 to seek conversion therapy. Laws based on restricting the psychiatric profession as to what counseling they can provide are deemed unenforceable. Those under the age of 18 will be able to seek conversion therapy provided that they have permission from their parents. Those under the age of 18 who wish to discontinue therapy have the right to provide a written statement to their psychiatrist, who is then required to both acknowledge the receipt of the written statement and to discontinue therapy at the request of the patient. Psychiatrists failing to discontinue therapy at patient request will be stripped of their license.
