that breitbart is also paying for polls, showing a constant clinton lead...(improved this time if my memory serves me)...is the cherry of the top of this political week.

If Breitbart can't show Trump ahead, something big is going down.

Changes since August 22-23

Clinton - 44% (+2)
Trump - 40% (-1)
Johnson - 5% (+1)
Stein - 2% (+1)

The Clinton surge is alive!

Don't think this is right.

Wasn't it:

Clinton 43
Trump 40

last time?  I think the +1 was from 2 polls ago.

Gravis is a reasonable (not gold standard) online pollster, pretty sure they wouldn't alter the results to be more favourable to one candidate.  Most likely this is their best attempt to poll the electorate as it is.

Gravis used to regularly put out polls with no undecideds. They're bad at this.

reading the comments on breitbart is really rich.....

the users don't believe the poll of their own trump-fangirl-site and praise either rasmussen instead or reject ALL polls cause they are all rigged.

I think they were asked to do pure either/or polls by One America News.  Once they switched to Breitbart they started showing normal results.  I don't think it's a knock against them necessarily, more against OAN for asking for a weird format.

So, unless Clinton doesn't faint or wet herself, she should be OK in Colorado and Wisconsin and Western Civilization is saved....for another four years.

since i think the next democratic president is going to come from a new, millenial-friendly, generation and with a new approach, i think this specific problem won't repeat.....and if there is a liberal SCOTUS majority, there is nothing wrong with a republian presidency in itself....even needed, especially for the democrats to win back some state houses and guv positions.

Crazy talk. If Clinton doesn't win there is no liberal SCOTUS. Quite the contrary. Also, President Trump means you may not actually survive to see a democratic president in the future.

i was, ofc, referring to the NEXT election, since spicy purrito was talking about the next ordeal in 4 years...but i guess i should have made my position more transparent. ^^

I was robopolled by Gravis on the night of Sept. 19, so I wonder if it was for this poll even though the release says it was conducted on Sept. 20.

From about as prop-Republican a news entity as there is. This is close to Obama 2012.

The fact that anyone is still paying Gravis Marketing for polling is pretty disturbing.

Not really.  If you (the hiring entity) hope for a result to be favorable for Republicans, why not hire a pollster with an R bias?  This is not to accuse Gravis of fudging their numbers -- I do not at all believe they are -- but results have shown that their results tend to bias R.  This is most likely due to their models and methodology.  Other pollsters have D biases, and someone hoping for a D-friendly result would be more likely to hire them; for example, Democracy Corps (I just posted something similar to this in the thread about their recent poll.)  Still other pollsters have little to no bias.

There's certainly a market for pollsters that are favorable to each side.  Pollsters like Gravis and Democracy Corps are just filling this niche in the free market. Wink
