According to this Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kofD2zAlcCE), holoportation is about to become real, which, of course, could remind us the Star Wars movies, and could be the future of long-distanced communications.

Could Senators and Congressmen running for President use holoportation to attend votes in the Congress while running for President in the near future?

They already do in a sense: they're called remote broadcasts.

Besides, wouldn't each person in an audience need VR goggles to be able to experience it in a way that's different from merely watching it on a screen?

Maybe they can be allowed to vote on bills without actually being in the Capitol.
