Ray Metcalfe is a lot younger than I expected (66, as opposed to being in his 80s like I guessed). Still, for a dude who has been in Alaska politics as long as he has, that 12% is a terrible number even by running against a safe incumbent standards.

Fair to say that this race is less interesting than 2010's.

Somewhat hilarious that Alaska, after having 7 straight utterly not-competitive elections (1982-2002), Alaska then proceeded to have 4 of the most hotly contested elections in the United States (2004-2014). Looks like we're back to a not-competitive streak. Wonder how many decades it'll be before another competitive race.

Sullivan's seat could be a race in 2020, as could Murkowski's seat when she retires/gets primaried again.

Actually this race would be a possible pickup in a wave if the Democrats had found a real candidate.

Dems won't need any "Moore" information to decide not to waste money here.

I hope they re-poll now that Joe Miller is the Libertarian Nominee...

I agree. Just after they poll it, that was announced.

Especially considering how well minor party candidates do in Alaska.

As a partisan Dem, I didn't like Frank Murkowski, who impeached Bill Clinton; and his daughter defeated my favorite Dem McAdams in 2010 Who was just getting fire in the last days of 2010. And Tony Knowles.

It will be a upset

Well I mean, Murkowski did win on a write in campaign in 2010, doesn't take much in Alaska.
