I'm glad to have two great candidates for Speaker. Either one would serve you well.

Labor won the election and, sooner or later, will get their guy in (we don't have enough activity to spend it on obstructionism), NeverAgain is more qualified for the job anyway, and it's not even like Washington is a Federalist, so I don't see why we should make a "party lines" vote for him.

Feds can vote how they want and I'd hold nothing against them for doing so, but I think NeverAgain will win the vote, and I feel it would be pointless to waste time on this when we have far better things to do.

edit: the only party lines we have are of the conga variety.

It's not like Abraham Washington has even accepted his nomination.

At this point, I don't think Abraham Washington should be on the ballot since he hasn't even sworn in yet. Also, (unless he posted a LOA somewhere and I missed it) considering the level of activity required to be Speaker, I have concerns with electing someone who hasn't sworn in yet and we're 5 days into the session.

He swore in the day after the election and to my knowledge has not posted in  the Fantasy Election boards since.

I think it is reasonable at this point to just let NeverAgain take over by acclimation.
