1. WP = Anti-TRUMP media
2. 815 RV = Not enough smaples for National Poll
3. Even this skewed poll, Independent voters TRUMP 46% > Hillary 42%

Unskewed polling...ew.

An interesting question. I didn't mean for my response to be quite as sassy as it now looks to me. I think the reality is a matter of media consumption and local community. All of the things that have hurt Trump so much just don't have a way to penetrate that community with any credibility. Don't know what could change that, really.

You weren't sassy, just concise. Wink

I can't help but think that even the depths of his ugliness is hitting so big even low info voters have to pick some of it up and think poorly of him. Or maybe not....

Hard to say. There's a received wisdom that less-educated white men vote more out of a sense of resentment or frustration than out of support/opposition to a specific policy or even a specific candidate. If that's true then the attitudes toward Clinton and Trump among these voters is likely baked in and impervious to any new information.

I'm not sure I buy that line wholesale, though. Yes, less-educated white male alienation is real, but Trump is also offering a slate of suggestions (I can't really call them 'policies') that would have an obvious economic appeal: massive construction projects ('the wall'), successful (possibly extortion-based) trade and foreign relations programs, lower taxes and protection of helpful social programs like Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid.

Obviously all those things are tied up with Trump's racialist and classist appeals, but to the extent you can separate one from the other I think it's possible to see a rational economic interest at work.

Aren't dumb white men the ones who gave Trump the nomination? These are probably the same God-fearing America-loving rubes who like that he attacks the family of a fallen Muslim soldier. (I'm guessing.)

Yes. I have cause to believe that we now have an Eisenhower-style electorate (and Southern blacks would have been on the side of Eisenhower if they could have voted in states in which blacks did not vote) for Hillary Clinton.

All that one needs do is listen to the content of his speeches and watch his conduct; it might appeal to people with problems of impulse control but appall others. people with poor impulse control usually wash out of college quickly if they even start college. People with poor impulse control  rarely develop the knack for discretion.

The education and gender gaps continue. I think Trump really has exacerbated the gender gap, not necessarily because of his female comments (though that's bad too) but because of his 'we need to be tough, strong, America is weak, we need to win again' attitude that doesn't appeal much to femininity and much more to masculinity. Also happens to be when Clinton is saying we need more 'kindness' in the world. Just a thought.

And just something else: this race might get closer again when the methodology switches to likely voters instead of registered voters.

Looks like Trump has the redneck vote pretty solidly locked, but is under-performing with whites overall. Pretty sure he's on life support now.

These results are kind of a big deal. The norm may be settling in. At some point, doing okay/righting the ship won't get Trump anywhere. He'll have to really go above and beyond/have Hillary really sink.

Clinton is the only Democrat I've seen that gets higher numbers with LV than RV.

This has been the most devastating poll so far, the internals are just awful for Trump.

I agree.
The internal numbers are just incredible.
trump's ship is taking on tons of water, and if the holes are sealed soon, the trump yacht is doomed.

PS: Where is mr. Serioulsy ? Is this thread too much for his eyes to accept ?

Trump is the captain of the Titanic and despite all of his engineers telling him to reverse course and evacuate the passengers, he's still going full steam ahead.
