Who will take up Bernie Sanders's social democratic mantra in 2020 (if Hillary Clinton loses in 2016) or in 2024 (if Hillary Clinton wins in 2016)?

Any thoughts on this?

Feingold, Teachout, Franken, Warren, Brown, and Wyden all seem like possibilities.

Elizabeth Warren or Chris Murphy, although there are lots of options.

Zephyr Rain Teachout. Wow ... what an unusual name!

She was born in Vermont in 1970. That should help explain things.

Tulsi Gabbard has been rather bluntly positioning herself for it in a headlines-grabbing way since the fall.

I can't believe some of the names people in this thread have been floating. Warren already basically co-founded the movement before it became Bernie's. Murphy isn't going to go at it the Sanders-way, he's trying to win the establishment. Feingold and Merkley and Wyden and Brown and Franken are too set in their ways and uncharismatic or otherwise unsuitable, Keith Ellison already has the CPC and probably won't be able to get much more traction himself.

Well, Yeah, Vermont was full of hippies back in 1970, wasn't it?
