this was just reported on CNN the Clinton campaign expects that Debbie Wasserman Schultz will be gone by the end of the day while Debbie herself believes that she will weather this out

Why should she stay? She's presided over two of the worst midterm losses in modern political history for her party.

Sanders calling for unity on the left, backing Clinton, and calling out DWS's bullpuckey. Back to being the FF he always was.

That means DWS will be gone at the end of the day. Clinton will get her way on this and give Sanders a peace offering

Would be ironic if she'd go against even Hillary.

Better to rip the band-aid off today and not have it drag out like the Melania speech. At least Bernie can say he exerted strong influence on the DNC outside of the platform additions. I'd imagine Bernie fans would celebrate her removal today more than anything else

And yet ultimately it will mean nothing to the agitated ones on the left. They will see it merely as getting something they should have never been denied in the first place. Then, they will move on to another grievance they have with the Democratic party and again make a big deal out of it. I imagine it would just continue like that indefinitely. They will not ever be satisfied unless Clinton suspends her campaign and Bernie takes her place.

I'll just say it again: It's very amusing how much energy the left always puts in to infighting and smearing their own party.

DWS should resign for everybody's sake. In fact, she should have resigned years ago.

Its not so much as keeping the left happy as keeping Sanders happy, I think. And who can really blame him?

Everything the Clinton campaign has done since the CA primary has shown they are going out of their way to ensure there are no shows of disunity at the DNC next week. They made big concessions to Sanders on the platform and on rules (Supers and caucus/primary reform) and gave Sanders a primetime speaking slot. Their teams have worked closely together and avoided any public acrimony even when Sanders held out on endorsing. Apparently one of the first phone calls made after the Kaine pick were both Kaine and Podesta called Sanders out of courtesy.

As for DWS, before this it was said that she was reduced to a figurehead. Initially they saw hiding DWS would be best but if it takes her leaving to keep the peace, then she is gone. There can be no risk of anything like we saw at the RNC with even little floor eruptions and certainly nothing like they had with Cruz and booing from the floor.

DWS was never popular with the grassroots of the Democratic Party. She probably should have left since after the 2014 midterms.

So who replaces her? Surely Bernie is going to push hard to get someone from his camp or at least someone who nominally is sympathetic to the party's left.

I'd say Warren. She's well-liked enough among Bernie (besides the extremist #BernieOrBust-ers) and Hillary supporters.

Just a couple days ago all the red avatars we're btching and moaning about how WikiLeaks should be charged as "disgusting criminals" for releasing the DNC emails.. the same ones that exposed the corruption that is leading to her stepping down that they are all now praising.

Clowns, lol.

If there was one good argument against DWS stepping down, it was reactions like yours. Hacking is a crime, no doubt, and WikiLeaks should be charged as criminals.

EDIT: the only reason why I support her stepping down is because a Bernie voter told me today they didn't feel appreciated by the party. That's literally the only reason. We're stronger together and the party should be respectful to its supporters.

Both of those points can be true.
