ETA: The judge also ordered Kobach to take some legal classes!  That's hilarious.

Looks like Ohio is moving to curtail the ability for citizens to amend the state constitution:

https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/legislation/legislation-summary?id=GA132-HJR-19

Aside from various restrictions on actually gathering petitions, they seem to be upping the approval threshold from a bare majority to 60%, like Florida.

This will have to be approved by the voters.

Thread:

I've said this before, but if Florida is my number one most hated state, Ohio is number two on that list.

All kinds of states are taking up felony disenfranchisement reform too. Will have to see how that goes.

That's good. Florida actually started a positive precedent, for once. Wait...did I just say something positive about Florida? Hey, look, pigs are flying! Awesome! I love pigs!

It's excellent to see her undoing Kobach's damage.

Posted this in the C&L forum, but will do so here too.

Gov. DeSantis of Florida signed SB-7066 on Friday, making felons have to pay court fees and other costs to get their voting rights restored. Blatant disregard of the 2018 popular vote.

Despicable! Florida does something right for once and then the Governor disregards it. Does he want to maintain his state's status as the nation's most depressing punchline?

Looks like redistricting in Arizona could play out differently this time around:

Of f***ing course. At least it signifies that the Arizona GOP seems to be privy to how their state has been trending. They're scared.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/05/politics/iowa-governor-ex-felons-voting-rights/index.html

Some good news out of a Republican state. Iowa now will automatically restore ex-felons voting rights once they have completed what they need to.
Iowa is catching up with Florida and Virginia.

It's still ahead of Florida since the state's poll tax for ex-felons was upheld by the Supreme Court.
