I mean, he quit his contract with Fox and then didn't get selected for VP.  Time for a vacation?  I don't see him campaigning much for Trump since he doesn't actually seem to care for him that much.

Considering he quit his job, I have to wonder if Trump offered him a cabinet position.

Chief of Staff perhaps? I assume Trump thinks Newt still has clout in Washington.

He didn't quit his contract with FOX; he was suspended because he entered the realm of being a viable candidate.  At least that's what I heard.

Newt's a candidate for a top Cabinet position.  Secretary of State is a possibility for Newt.  VP is not the place for Newt.  He could have come on too strong, much like Ed Muskie did in 1968, and folks don't want to think that the wrong guy is at the top of the ticket.

I sure hope he's done.  The man has no credibility in Washington outside of Heritage Foundation type organizations

He'll write a few more non-fiction policy books, which he'll market by making a few cheap documentaries and sending them out by the thousands in the mail to people like my Grandma for free.

(I kid you not, my Grandma gets a new documentary from Newt and Callista Gingrich like once a year. She usually has me come over to set up her DVD player, and then she doesn't watch it and throws it away anyway, and the DVD player goes back under the bed to collect dust until next year.)

I imagine several bad alternate history novels are also in the cards. His contract with Fox will be renewed, but he'll be limited to bi-monthly appearances on Hannity.

Can we please get legislation against the revolving door of FOX News and Republican politics?

Both Newt Gingrich and Chris Christie get a job in the administration, assuming they want one. Christie would likely be Attorney General, not so sure what Newt's role would be but I'm sure he'll have a job with Trump if he wins.

Stop embarrassing America by his presence?

Nah, that would be too much to ask of him.
