Trump is definitely over performing in Iowa and NV, but he's not close enough to take a Natl lead.

Yeah. I definitely thought that Clinton calling him out would take the wind of his sails but it seemed to have the opposite effect. It now seems that Trump's attempt to stand up for what he believes in has also backfired. Two swings and a misses in a row. It seems like a very strange campaign. People are very concerned about Trump yet they feel sorry for him and feel like Clinton is trying to tell them how to feel every time she raises those concerns.  Trump needs to go on the offensive but Clinton cannot afford to stay on the Defensive.

It seems that even a very slim victory by Trump could be seen as a "realignment" or an "unalignment".

Maybe we are seeing the effects of his wild immigration speech after the boost from last week?
Might be. There are similar trends in Ipsos and CVoter. We have to wait.

In retrospect, I think the Trump = KKK speech/ad campaign was really dumb as it may have just pushed non-college whites more toward voting as a block.  Clinton's still up in the aggregate, but she can't afford a bad 1st debate like Obama.

So, basically we are heading towards a future where non-middle class whites (those whose educational achievement is in the bottom 70% or are in the top 1-5%) will  constitute an "ethnic" group? You could say the entire "religious right" thing was just a transitional phase towards this.  Is there a way this ends benignly?

But it'd be nice, if CNN poll was right about the race Smiley

Splendid news. Hillary's numbers are rising faster that a teenager's dick while he is reading SI's swimsuit edition.

I still struggle to understand why they consistently find Bush '04 levels of support amongst Hispanics for Trump.

They adjusted it to show support based on 2012.  Doing that was always going to produce crap results.

These tracking polls seem about as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop.

Actually, the most pro-Clinton day before she took the lead rolled off the average, and it responded accordingly. This was to be expected. And the old formula will look a little weird.

Old Formula
Trump 50% (+9)
Clinton 45% (-2)

New Formula
Trump 48% (+6)
Clinton 44% (-1)
