I wonder why there are more people registered in the North and in Fremont than in the South. I would think that the South has a larger population than each of them.

Labor party now only has 33% of people in the North? I remember it being more recently.

The following voters have been de-registered for missing three federal elections:
Angrie
BigEdLB
Bmotley
Cassius
Dallasfan65
drewmike87
Reaganfan
TheHawk
As a consequence of Bmotley being de-registered, the Democratic-Republican Party is no longer recognized, as it only has two members.

Can they be deregistered yet? With a runoff incoming I think the election is technically still ongoing. Or would that count as a totally different election, so that missing both round one and round two would be two strikes?

EDIT: The law actually does address one part, saying that runoffs wouldn't count as a strike but would count as activity. Nothing on whether it is still part of the past election or counts as a second one though.

Following on from that question. The people who couldn't vote in the election due to not being registered for seven days, can they vote in the run-off?

It's the same question. If its a new election then the answer would have to be yes. If it is merely a continuation it would have to be no. The constitution's wording is "from the commencement of the election"; the question is if that was the 21st or will be the 28th.

Thinking on this even more, I'm not sure if Peebs is the one who would make this call...maybe it'd be the Rpryor? The Court?

In my opinion, it is all one election, although, if the court wishes to issue a ruling before Friday morning, I would welcome it.

I couldn't find a campaign thread for you. Sad

Congratulations on your victory in the House election. Hopefully you'll continue from where you left off in your last term.

I put them back in the voter rolls on the off-chance they do vote in the runoff. Those that don't vote will be re-deregistered.

Are those who were ineligible for the first round now eligible for the runoff ( eg. registered less than 7 days before Round 1 but more than 7 days before now)

I'm not sure. rpryor considers this runoff part of the original election (And I will include those who voted in the runoff but not the general has having voted).

Also, FTR, the code for October is such.
Green - voted in both general and runoff
Blue - voted in general but not runoff
Yellow - voted in runoff but not general
Red - voted in neither general nor runoff

Deristered voters should not have the right to vote. They had 6 months to show interest and did not. Nobody tried to re-register following deregistration. If they come to vote just for a run off because they were automatically re-registered, that is the best case of zombie voter. We are allowing dead people to vote. Happy Halloween.

I just saw this - these voters should not have been placed back on the voter rolls. The election law clearly states that a voter is removed from the rolls the instant they fail to vote in a third consecutive federal election (and in the same section, specifies that runoffs and special elections are considered distinctly from regular elections for the purpose of activity requirements).

I will regretfully be forced to sue if these voters are not removed from the rolls and their votes not rendered invalid

I hadn't noticed this until last night. They will be re-removed accordingly.
