If she's going safe then just pick Kaine. The VP can't be safe and low-energy like Perez, no matter if he's Hispanic or not.

VPs are actually supposed to do no harm so I disagree and think Perez fills the Kaine role of not harming the ticket and adds the likelihood of energizing Hispanics as the first Hispanic American on a major party ticket
