In this time where the presidential nominees Hillary Clinton (D) and Donald Trump (R) are making VP searchs, I'm interessed about who would the other presidential candidates would have selected as their running mate. I start with Marco Rubio.

Who would Marco Rubio have selected as his running mate if he won the Republican nomination this year?

Kasich. Many in the donor class were dreaming of a Rubio/Kasich ticket.

Kasich would be the most rational choice. I think that either a Rubio/Kasich or a Kasich/Rubio ticket would have been the strongest GOP challenge for the Democrats (especially the latter).

As an "establishment Republican," Rubio would never have picked another establishment figure like Kasich.  He would have gone for someone to energize the RWNJs and TEA Partiers.  Scott Walker would have been perfect.  He's beloved on the Right and knows how to win tough elections.

Remember, Gardner would cost Republicans a Senate seat, which may decide the majority.

Rubio/Kasich maybe yes. Kasich/Rubio would defeat Hilldog pretty easily.

Kasich or Haley.

I don't think HRC could have beaten a ticket with either Rubio or Kasich at the top of it.

Kasich. A Rubio/Kasich ticket would have been very tough to beat.

Haley would bring much more diversity in a ticket formed by a Hispanic and an Indian-American who successfully campaigned to remove the Confederate flag from the South Carolina's Capitol Hill. The potential of Haley attracting more Asian-American voters to vote Republican could have made the Washington state a battleground state since 11,2 % of the local population is Hispanic and 7,2 % of the Washington state's population is Asian-American. They are both young, which is an important plus in a year where almost all Millenials are eligible to vote.

In addition, Haley would excite conservatives and would bring economic credibility to the ticket with her past private sector career where she ran businesses like Exotica International and was president of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Plus, she's a governor so she brings executive experience to the ticket.

And Rubio is a donor puppet, so...

Rice, Sandoval, or Haley.

Kasich really doesn't want the Vice Presidential spot - the only reason he would ever accept it for Trump would be to fix Trump's campaign. Anybody else and he would refuse.

Likely Kasich, but I voted Haley, as I imagine she would've been high up on the list as well.

I think it would have been Haley or Martinez.  Kasich said he wasn't keen on being VP, and I'm not sure it was only because of Trump.

Nikki Haley. She has executive experience as Governor, adds more diversity to the ticket, puts a woman on the ticket when facing Hillary, she's young, she appeals to both Tea Party types and the establishment, and she endorsed and actively campaigned for Rubio before the South Carolina primary.
