Trump/Pence sounds weird since you have two "P" sounds next to each other.

"Trumpence"

The last time that happened, Rooseveltruman won.
Actually, the last time two similar sounds were put together was when Fordole lost. Tongue

Pence must be more unpopular than anyone realizes to leave a gubernatorial seat that is strong Republican for the less than 10% chance he'll actually win and be VP

No, I don't think that's it.  I think Pence would be cool with being VP, but ideally he'd like to be president.  He thinks he's awesome enough that even if Trump/Pence loses this year, his debut on the national stage will endear him to Republican primary voters, setting him up for 2020.

Nothing says "I Love The Gays" like Trump picking a man who made a big stink with his "Religious Freedom" Act.

I previously wanted Gingrich, but upon further reflection, I'd like Pence.

Pence doesn't make me any more likely to vote for trump in the slightest, but at least if trump becomes president at least the vp won't be an absolute idiot buffoon like Sarah palin or anyone like her. I don't like him, but we could do a lot worse.

Yeah I agree. I'm not a big fan of his because of the whole controversy over the religious freedom law or whatever it was called, but Trump certainly could've picked somebody worse. At least he's better than Gingrich and Christie, although I really would have loved Flynn Sad

lol

Pence could put Indiana in play for Clinton.

This is an intriguing possibility. Pence is clearly not popular in Indiana. But I don't think he's toxic enough to actually drag Trump down significantly there.

Donald Trump should not pick someone who is pro-choice (and this is coming from someone who is reluctantly pro-choice). A significant portion of Republicans vote on the issue of abortion alone. Religious conservatives already hate Donald Trump for not being "strongly" pro-life, picking Flynn would cause them to stay home at record levels. Not to mention that Flynn has no political experience. Donald Trump needs to pick someone with political experience if he wants to win.

The GOP base will NEVER stay home. They will vote for anything to stop Hillary Clinton.

Trump can say goodbye to the LGBTQ vote ( not that he had it much in the first place) the one minority group he had at least some potential to improve Romney with.

Freedom ticket in that it helps Trump lose, and ensures we don't get another four years of Pence.

I'm hoping they replace him on the gubernatorial ballot with Greg Ballard, but that's not going to happen.

Pence would be a horrible choice, wouldn't appeal to Midwestern voters and would be a horrible VP.

Where's the meh option?

I'm not a fan of Pence, but wouldn't be the worst pick. I still hope TRUMP goes with either Flynn, Christie or Brown.

If a Republican has to use the VP spot to make sure he wins Indiana, that's not a good sign.

I don't think that's the logic behind picking Pence at all. Trump isn't even targeting Indiana.

Not good for Trump.
And not good for the country, if Trump loses because of this.

Not a great pick imo but at least it isn't someone like Christie or Carson.

If I were Trump I would pick ether a general (someone like McCrystal) or a female legislator(Marsha Blackburn)
