At this point, with Bernie's public bending of the knee only days away, it's increasingly becoming clear that we will never, despite his and his campaign's constant promises to the contrary, see Bernie Sanders' tax returns. Why do you folks think he was so reticent to release these bad boys? What was so damaging in these things that literally every other non-Trump candidate was willing to release?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. He seems like the kind of guy to use the "I'm making the world a better place already! Why should I spend extra?" logic. Sort of like a left-wing equivalent to those priests who won't leave tips at restaurants.

I think it was likely something relating to his wife's finances. She seemed to be very "absent" from the campaign relative to a typical candidate's spouse, and I got the impression that she is a very private person who didn't take well to this level of scrutiny.
