[quote]
My vice presidential prediction is: Trump is about to make his first mistake. I knew this would happen as soon as he hired campaign consultants, rather than relying on his gut. If these campaign consultants were any good, their first piece of advice to Trump would be, "Fire us immediately!"

Trump's advisers are undoubtedly telling him he's got the "outsider" image covered. He needs someone with experience in Washington -- as if presidents don't have staffs -- an elected Republican official with solid standing in the GOP, preferably a sitting senator or governor, who will give the ticket gravitas and heft.

If Trump picks a typical Republican, the odds are better than even that his nominee will end up withdrawing in order to win the good opinion of The New York Times.

Once a week until the election, there will be some fresh media hysteria about a Trump pop-off, and his nominee will come under enormous pressure to repudiate Trump -- destroying Trump's candidacy and winning himself a lifetime of media adulation. The nominee will have visions of well-compensated board positions, Time magazine's Man of the Year, meetings with actresses, his own show on Fox News -- maybe NBC! -- and not one, but two covers on Vanity Fair. If Trump chooses a vice president who supports cheap labor for the donor class, how long before both parties decide to impeach President Trump?

She's wrong.

In honestly Trump should have buttoned up his campaign long time ago( right after the NY/NE primaries).   His support is rock hard and isn't going anywhere.   He should have had less media access and more scripted statements(ORL tweet was horrid).  The race would prob have him ahead right now with all the recent events that in a normal year would help republicans.  Trumps buffoonery and stupid social media statements have him basically unelectable.

I suspect he now realizes he headed for a major embarrassing defeat and is trying to listen to wise ones among his campaign.   His last 2 weeks have been much better and on course.

His first mistake was standing up on stage talking about doing away with the minimum wage, epa and other investments in this country. His second mistake is pissing off millions of non-whites and women! He really didn't have to in order to get 60% of the male vote.

He isn't as bad as cruz but he isn't going to win.

Trump needs to nominate a VP candidate who has never trashed him publicly.  Too many of the "unifying" VP candidates have made negative comments toward Trump that can't be walked back.

OK .... but part of the problem is that trump needs to nominate a VP candidate who he (trump) has never trashed publicly. trump has talked so much bulls**t about others, that the pool being small, is his fault also.

Ah she doesn't mind the anti-Mexican rhetoric one bit. I remember Ben Shapiro asking about her about the growing Latino Population  It was like she wasn't interested in the least bit in the Republicans making inroads with the Latino Vote. She thinks 8 out of 10 every Latino's  are gonna vote for Democrats for the rest of their life.. Trick is in my opinion for the Republicans to give Latino's an agenda that they can believe in that they can vote for. Republicans haven't given anybody a reason to vote for their Presidential Candidates the past 2 cycles anyway in my opinion. I will give them a pass for 2008 since McCain was gonna lose anyway because of "The Housing Crisis" but he didn't run an agenda for the future and Obama did though.

Trump would do well to completely ignore the woman known as Ann Coulter.

Ann Coulter has really turned against Christie, Mitt Romney and the whole GOP (except for Trump).  It is shocking to see.  She hates the GOP now as much as or more than she hates the Dems.  I have noticed that Coulter periodically becomes obsessed with 1 person or 1 issue (now it's Trump and illegal immigrants).  Several years ago she was all in for Christie.

Yeah that was before she found out Christie wasn't for deporting all illegal immigrants I think.

It has been interesting watching Coulter. I used to be a fan of hers, but that was a long time ago now. It's strange that a single white lady who's made money off bucking the establishment finds her non establishment credentials in Romney (whom she supported), and now Trump.

Color me skeptical. The strange thing is Christine O'Donnell (whom I also liked at the same time), has held firm in her #NeverTrump, while Coulter has swung so far the other way.

Oh .... you are one of "them."
Are you also one of "those" who believed that Obama and the federal government were planning to take over Texas during a Navy SEAL/Green Beret joint training exercise last year ?
