North Carolina is looking like a potential battleground state in 2016. With President Obama and Secretary Clinton campaigning in Charlotte, N.C. this afternoon, and looking at the crowd behind them (African Americans, young voters, white educated professionals), can Hillary Clinton replicate the Obama coalition and win North Carolina, or will Donald Trump keep North Carolina red?

The way things stand right now, it could be the closest state in the nation. Right now, I think Hillary will win it by <1%, but if the race tightens, Trump probably takes it.

If Hillary wins by a decisive (somewhat larger than Obama 2012) margin nationally, I think she'll squeak by in North Carolina.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/nc/north_carolina_romney_vs_obama-1784.html

On 7/5/12, Romney lead on average by 2 and won by 2.

She's up by 0.7 now in RCP.

Clinton. Maybe I'm continuing to overestimate the integrity of the American public, but I still think Trump's going to get trounced by a margin similar to 88.

If Hillary wins by 4.5% or more, her. A 4% win nationally for Hillary or worse, and Trump wins it.

Voted Trump.

North Carolina may be the closest state in this election. I believe that Clinton will barely win the state since she is slightly ahead in the RCP average as HillOfANight said.

I think Hillary will win by between 40,000 to 75,000 votes in North Carolina.

It'll be really really close...probably too close to make any reliable call.
