Well, considering how Trump reacted when he incorrectly believed that Romney had won the popular vote but lost the electoral college, and considering his willingness to egg on his most radical supporters to violence already this campaign, I for one would be quite worried.

Not going to happen.

The red avatars would be gleeful. Some of the actual blue avatars would be upset. I'd accept it for what it is. The national popular vote doesn't matter, it's actually 51 separate state +DC elections.

The scenario is very unlikely because the Democrats run up the popular vote score in hopeless states like California and New York, so much so that the rest of the country trends more Republican on average.
