Trump's "You're fired!" image will make it tough to get folks to take the job of a Cabinet Secretary.  Whereas most Presidents, even Reagan, (especially Reagan, some would say) have seemed incapable of firing folks, Trump might be the quickest hook of any President in my lifetime.

I'll bet that many of the Cabinet Secretaries Trump would pick would be young Mayors and Representatives.  I don't believe there will be a lot of Carl Icahns in the Cabinet; if they wanted to be big cheeses in government, they'd have run for the top job like Trump has done.  I doubt many Senators and non-term limited Governors will be hankering for a Trump appointment.

A scary thought!

I have a hard time imagining Ben Carson and Sarah Palin getting through the Senate.  Especially Sarah.  Can't imagine she's too popular among all those establishment Rs that she's been relentlessly attacking with primaries over the years.

As always too many politicians...

Why would Marco Rubio take education?

From Yes, Minister.  Episode: The Middle Class Rip-Off.

(Sir) Arnold was the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister (I.E the real boss.)

Hacker is James Hacker, the Minister in Yes, Minister.  He was Minister of Administrative Affairs, a ministry that doesn't actually exist, but that allowed the writers to give him any responsibility they wanted him to have.

In this story, he was being considered getting responsibility for The Arts as part of a 'ministerial reshuffle' wherein some responsibilities are moved to different ministries, as opposed to moving the ministers around (a cabinet shuffle).

"Arnold objected to that on the grounds that Hacker is a complete philistine. I was surprised at Arnold, missing the point like that. After all, the Industry Secretary is the idlest man in town, the Education Secretary is illiterate and the Employment Secretary is unemployable."

I have four in my mine(Jon Huntsman, Jr., Mtch Daniels, Bill Shuster, and Rudy Giuliani), five counting the Vice President.

Praeger, Reagan, Bauer, and Reynolds have all held statewide office, but I don't think they count as politicians.

***Cosgrove is clearly the best choice for the job, but he's turned it down once already, in 2014. Lofton is the next best choice.
