Hi, I'm Enduro, and I'm running for one of the regional senate seats in the North. I've served in the Assembly when the Northeast existed, and for the last couple of months, I've been filling the position of Game Moderator. As a Senator, I will fight for basic freedoms in congress, and try to work with the other side on important issues. Should you vote for me, my thanks is extended to you, I'll try not to let you down.

Thank you!

And welcome to the race

The GM position won't exist when the new congress takes office.

Also, thank you, and good luck to you.

Enduro do you still believe that schools should be privatized?

If we privatize schools, then schools will become businesses; what do businesses want? Money. How do they get that money? Through deals and improving their product; I think privatizing schools could possibly be the best thing for this educational system.

Yes. Although with a bit more guidelines than what I thought then.

Privatizing oversight but not funding may make a bit more sense. Playing with children's education seems unwise, though, so unlike privatizing, say, oversight of economic development, it should be done very carefully with many checks if at all. For example, providing funding tied to quality and partially results would make a bit more sense.

The main extremism in this is the belief in privatizing funding.

What would you do to promote women's rights? I was just talking to constituents in Bedford, NH, and a women told me about how she had been raped, and then her health insurance wouldn't cover emergency contraception. What would you do as Senator to make sure women in the North have access to comprehensive contraception coverage?

As little as possible, at least as long as I'm in the senate. I like to let regions decide what to do about things; example, a women doesn't like the plan her region offers on contraception coverage, she has another two to choose from. If she doesn't like the plan the federal government offers, her choice is deal with it, or move out of the country. The idea is this: if the regions can do it, I'll fight to let them.

Thank you all so much, I'll try not to let anyone down.

Will you be using your "do as little as possible" policy for all issues in the Senate? If so, what's the difference between electing you and electing a rock?

Although I would've phrased his statement differently (with the knowledge that politics is a sport like wrestling--except your opponent bends your words out of shape, instead of yourself), it's nothing more than a reiteration of the famous (yet misattributed by Thoreau) Jefferson quote: "the best government is that which governs least."

The concept of a decentralized and (at least federally) libertarian government is not a new one, nor a far-fetched one, nor, I'm sure, is it one you yourself are unfamiliar with.

While many will spin this as supporting government that is not active, it's my interpretation--which I believe anyone looking unbiased would agree with--that this is Enduro supporting government that is not actively stripping sovereignty from the regions and, ultimately, the individual (from which all government power--federal, regional, or otherwise--is derived). But one can be libertarian and pro-region and still be active in the Senate--just as many pro-centralization statists have been inactive in the Senate.

Leinad is spot on here, but I do want to add that a key part of my platform, and life in general, is compromise. You can't get compromises by doing nothing. Also, I campaigned for the Northeast Assembly on the same promises I make here, and I was one of the most active members of that legislature. I don't mean to brag, but I don't want anyone to think that I'll just do nothing. Here's my promise to you: I won't be an inactive senator, but I won't do something for the sake of doing it.

'active' just simply means telling other folks what to do when they want them to do it, rather than taking care of business at home.

I think we have differing opinions on what active means, but differing opinions are a good thing.
