Hey all.

Hate to say it, but I may have to jettison my plans to run for Southern Chamber.  My RL political plans have changed....as such.

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=267502.msg5717151#msg57171

As pointed out in my post, I'll be running for a seat on my town council in CT.  Therefore, I may not have time to be a Chamber candidate, or Delegate (if elected).  Apologies in advance.

With the resignation of People's Representative Fhtagn to become Vice President, a vacancy has occurred in the House of Representatives in seat held by a member of the Federalist Party. In my search for a replacement I have aimed to find someone who is engaged, active and would be one that is line with what the voters desired when they casts their ballots a week and a half ago for this vacant seat. In view of all these considerations, I have decided to appoint LouisvilleThunder to the People's House of Representative for the term in the 7th Congress, expiring at Noon EST on September 1st, and for the term in the 8th Congress commencing at the aforementioned time and concluding on November 3rd, 2017.

Thank you very much for giving me this amazing opportunity to serve and strengthen our unique democracy. I have sworn in this morning, and I promise to work hard for the people of Atlasia and to be an active contributing member who will continue and build upon the excellent legacy of former Representative Fhtagn over the next two months. I promise to always hear suggestions from Fhtagn, her voters, and any other citizens since I would love to have the support of everyone. I will always strive to achieve good quality solutions to the major problems facing Atlasia through the art of bipartisanship and sticking to my own values in order to make lives better, happier, easier, and freer for all of our citizens. I will always vote on every bill unless I declare a leave of absence in the case of a real life emergency. I will also introduce and sponsor some of my own ideas and add input to other bills. I thank the Federalist Party for all of the support, and I will always keep my office open to input.
Here is my office.

I believe I will be running for Southern Chamber this time around.  Per sources in the "Introduction to Atlasia" thread, the next election there is from January 19th to January 21st.

Will you be seeking endorsement from the party?

Currently you are not a registered Federalist  (though you can change that Wink)

If you decide not to you can request in the convention thread an endorsement and it goes to a vote iirc.

Tidbits from first two days of a Fed Internal Poll

23 Respondents (So far)

Largest single group ideologically is moderates at 27.3%

Two biggest Conservative groups are:
Traditionalist Conservatives 18.2%
Libertarian Conservatives 18.2%

Combining all the Conservative Groups together the Party is
Conservative 59%
Moderate/Populist 32%
Libertarian 9%  (separate category from Libertarian Conservative)

Federalism is the new Regionalist movement
70% of Feds describe themselves as small f Federalists while just 26% listed Regionalist.

Most of those who listed Regionalists are older, and including 2 former Regional Protection Party members.

100% of Federalists support an even split in the legislature between federal and regional representatives, which means it is not just people selecting the party's name in the above question. They are more "federalist" then "regionalist" since a regionalist might support an all regional Senate with no popular representatives like some in the early RPP did.

60% support minor reforms to make existing things work
35% support major reforms as long as they adhere to federalist and conservative principles (see above)
5% Oppose all Reforms
0% support radical changes

86% Want to keep the Vice Presidency

95% want politicians who will steadfastly oppose the drift towards centralism
83% consider themselves fiscally conservative
95% support House Paygo and want it in the Senate.
83% would consider some form of a balanced budget amendment

48% of Feds think abortion should be illegal except for the big 3,
9% think abortion should always be illegal
82% think abortion should be illegal after week 20.

78% consider themselves pro-gun
83% oppose assault weapons ban
78% want stronger background checks
91% support improving mental health

70% support LGBT rights

In an homage to Public Policy Polling, I threw in the following question
65% want low potency explosives put back in the right to bear arms.
Eat your heart out Windjammer! Tongue

On foreign policy, the Federalist Party is evenly divided

Between unlikely to intervene and never intervening. Tongue
39.1% support Foreign Policy Restraint
30% are Non-Interventionist
13% are globalists or Interventionists
After that there is a scattering of positions with 4.3% each including Imperialism, Reagan Doctrine and "Aggressive FP" and Isolationist.

No real big surprises.
