Quick question: did the opium fell me too?

Kalwejt, I thought it seemed very strange, and I did encourage NeverAgain to SECRETLY send it to other countries. I should probably have held stronger against it. Oh well. I only regret having caused the failure of as great a man as Churchill.

No, it was combination of factors. You had already pushed your MP's to the brink with the Ireland vote and massively angered the Ulstermen and many Unionists, and handing over Hong Kong to the Chinese in that way seemed like a betrayal to most of the party (and indeed, most of the public). Angering them in such a way twice in the span of a few months was just too much.

Should Italy really be playable again honestly ?
I mean, you have developed a lot the Pope's character so he's not "undertermined" if you see what I mean.

Still a world power, so yes, it is playable if someone's interested.

Btw, will we have a dual Italian government (Papal-backed in Rome and Umberto in the colonies)?

Depends on player interest, really. It's looking towards a possible civil war, but these events in Rome have taken place over the last days of 1929, so a compromise is also plausible.

But honestly, is it the fact that I held elections so shocking lol?

For Quirinus's sake, Windjammer, it's just a comment, lol

It's meant to represent that no one expected for free elections to actually take place, because it's not something regimes like the Cross of Fire would have done historically (only very rarely does it happen). In this case, it's a "shocking" development in your benefit, since you won the election.

Yes, sir! You need to pick a Prime Minister to follow Churchill, and it has to be a Conservative.

I didn't expect three players to fall at once.

(I told NeverAgain to stand firm on opium Sad )

If it wasn't for the opium, I think NeverAgain would have survived the rolls, he did get the symbolic win of Hong Kong. But when I saw the opium trade was in the agreement like that I almost gasped.

In that case, I'll take Stanley Baldwin,  Member for Bewdley.

Could I get a quick explanation of the rules?

I might be interested in Italy, wouldn't want a duel government though, even if I'd have to fight a civil war over it.

I was planning on joining back as Italy, but I have already had my shot, so if you want it, go ahead.

Well,
I'm not the GM but I think a Pope becoming the player of Italy with a new king who has much less powers than before is possible.

Well whatever makes the most sense I'm fine with. So long as the GM is fine with it.

Well, you have the preference as a new player, Dr_Novella. The Pope will certainly be the most powerful one from now on, so it would probably be better if you played as him.

Hm. Pope sounds good then. Not interested in playing second fiddle to the pope.

BK told me he's interested in playing this game, but he's busy until December 15th.
Considering it is China, maybe we should continue the game, let the forces in Asia make the winner of the Chinese war and then let him control it?

As Lumine aid previously, since we've got the UK filled, we may move on for now.

Ok then, GoTfan and Dr. Novella join as UK (Stanley Baldwin) and Italy (Pope Alexander IX). I'm afraid I'll cap additions there, China will be left to be fought between NPC's and currently adding small nations would probably just overcomplicate things for me (apologies for those to wanted to rejoin immediately!).

So I'll get to work on the next turn.

Finally, NeverAgain will be joining as Admiral Kolchak given his newfound relevance.

Stupid enough to get exiled to Taiwan for seventy years, sadly (that and a couple of dice rolls didn't went well when I decided to simulate the future of the Kuomintang).

Anyway, turn's up, have fun. Remember, no mid-turn update this time.

I'd like clarification on two China things;

Is the offer to the Turks to send an expeditionary force still valid or was the request for Japan to leave a request for no foreign intervention in general?

Is Chaing's agreement to attend a peace conference in Tokyo with the Emperor still valid or is the Kuomintang withdrawing from that?

The Kuomintang would indeed send a representative to Tokyo for the Emperor peace talks. On the first one I need to look up a detail first, will get back on a response tomorrow afternoon.

So question:

If me and France do this whole meet up thing between the Pope and the King's son, would the gm outline the King's son's requests? Otherwise I'd be arguing with myself no?
