In Aug 1915: This election looks to be a Wilson victory ,after staying nuetral which is popular with the American population right now and accomplishing many reforms deemed necessary be the people I think only a Teddy Roosevelt nomination by the gop can save them

Hopefully Hughes and Fairbanks run. They could hold back the Wilson tide, especially if a conservative runs third party. An Oscar Underwood/Herbert Hadley conservative ticket would really undermine the Wilsonians. Unfortunately, a John P. Buchanan/William Jennings Bryan Populist ticket seems the most likely closest thing to do.

I never would have suspected Democrats could win an election without a divided party but it does seem like a Wilson victory is likely. Roosevelt has proven himself to be a maniac and seems far too eager to revive the rough riders and send them to Europe, the last thing we need is to get involved in an imperialist war of the old world. It's a shame that that weasel Wilson by adopting just enough progressive reforms has prevented the emergence of a viable Socialist Party with Eugene Debs as Lincoln. When the Democrats were Bryan's personal fiefdom it seemed more likely. They are still far too beholden to southern reactionaries and the Republicans are still far too beholden to eastern capital. Maybe Debs can still win in 20.
