http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/04/25/game-changer-bobby-knight-campaign-trump-indiana/83509764/

Legendary basketball coach Bobby Knight is slated to appear with Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump at a rally in Indiana this week, the Trump campaign announced Monday.

While Knight has not commented on a potential endorsement, his support for Trump has been known for months. During a New York Times interview last fall, Knight called Trump and said over speakerphone: “No one has accomplished more than Mr. Trump has.” And Trump hinted Saturday that the coach who once famously threw a chair across the court would be campaigning for him in Indiana.

The announcement Monday just makes it official. Trump and Knight will appear at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis Wednesday evening, the campaign said.

This is potentially bigger than the Cruz-Kasich deal. This man is worshiped in the state of Indiana.

Wow! What an honor!

I know if my basketball coach handed in an endorsement for someone that would hugely swing my vote. Maybe even for Ted Cruz (though he could be an exception - a classy guy would not endorse Lyin' Ted anyway)

In Indiana, a Bobby Knight endorsement cinches it for Trump.

Those protestors might not want to show up for this once. It could get quite ugly!

Conversely, this means a certain Cruz victory in IN-04. Boiler Up!

No one cares about a stupid author. We care about Tom Brady and Bobby Knight.

I actually knew this on Saturday.  He said Bobby Knight was the biggest endorsement you could get in Indiana and "boy if I could have any one, I'd want that one".  Obviously he wouldn't say that if it wasn't a done deal.

He met with the governor too - Mike Pence.  That'd be another big get.

Fascinating, and this will probably help Trump noticeably in Indiana.  Coaches and professional athletes seem quite Trumpy in general.  Any idea why?
I thought we would have seen a Harbaugh endorsement back during the Michigan primary.  Jim Harbaugh has a VERY Trump-esque personality, minus the ethnic platitudes.

My guess is that anyone who would vote for Trump simply because Bob Knight endorses him....is probably already voting for Trump. Don't think a Knight endorsement is moving Cruz/Kasich voters to Trump.

Simple - birds of a feather flock together.

They are celebrities and so is Trump. If he was not so lazy, he would have clinched this month's ago.

Trump used to own the New York/New Jersey Generals of the (now defunct) USFL. He made a run at the Buffalo Bills. Quite a few of the Yankees own/owned apartments at the Trump properties in the NYC area.
