Johnson got 1% of the vote in 2012.

Trump is absolutely hated by a significant portion of his party (unlike Romney, McCain, etc.) A record amount of Republicans claim that they would never vote for Trump (around 25% of the party). Hillary also has very low approval ratings. Many see her as corrupt (I disagree with this notion). Both Hillary and Trump have low approval ratings amongst independents. Many agree that the libertarians could get a record amount of votes this year (mostly from Republicans who hate Trump).

I voted 2%-2.5%.

2-2.5 The polls might show him getting more, but third parties tend to underwhelm.

If the NEVERTRUMP movement fades away as I expect it to, 2-3%. If, on the other hand, it sort of remains intact and outright advocates voting third party, he could get 7%.

Of course, there's also the possibility that Johnson isn't even the L nominee. McAfee and Peterson are serious threats and I won't be surprised of one of then wins the nomination. McAfee in particular seems like someone who could be the next Perot if things go right.

I'd say 2.5% to 3%. And I'm in an especially generous mood.

It depends what the leaders of the NeverTrump movement (particularly Ben Sasse) decide to do. If Sasse were to openly endorse the Libertarian Party nominee (believing it wouldn't cost him electorally or with the party establishment), I could see a significant movement of Republican voters toward that nominee, particularly if that nominee is Gary Johnson, a two-term governor of New Mexico who is arguably more Republican than Trump.

1%-1.5% He almost got one full percent in 2012, but I expect the political scene to be just as polarized along major party lines come November as usual.

Most normal people don't want to waste their vote. 1-1.5%.

I can see him getting 5%, maybe a little more.

The extremely high negatives of both Hillary and Trump make this possible.  In addition, if the election turns to be a Hillary blowout, the #NeverTrump crowd may well feel free to vote Johnson as a protest.
