How will this impact his chances of being selected as Trump's running mate?

Kobach is really handsome, but that's all he has going for him.  I frankly think Scott Brown would be the better choice if Trump wants someone physically attractive.

Also, he should really try to extend an olive branch to conservatives with his pick.  Ann Coulter & co. have nowhere else to go, so there's no use appealing to them.

In case anyone still clings to the fantasy that Nikki Haley might be considered, she just said that divisive rhetoric like Trump's is what leads to mass shootings, like that of Dylan Roof:

Meanwhile, on the Republican side…Mary Fallin has been named to one of the top leadership positions at the convention.  Probably has no bearing on her veep chances, but figured I’d mention it nonetheless:

Rick Scott wants higher office and he wants it bigly. He's been an amazing Governor, but I don't want him in the Senate, much less the Naval Observatory.

We still have no indication that any short listers for either Clinton or Trump have been contacted by the campaigns for vetting.  That is, the campaigns may be doing internal vetting, using publicly available information.  But at some point they have to actually tell the short listers that they are being considered.  In Clinton’s case, she may be holding off on doing that until she’s formally clinched the nomination.  Which means that, after Tuesday, we may start to get some more solid leaks on the Democratic side.  IIRC, Obama’s 2008 VP short list leaked nearly a month before the convention, so getting some solid leaks within the next couple of weeks seems likely.

Bad judgement, Harry. TRUMP will defeat them both. If Hillary wants someone from the left-wig of the party, she should pick Bernard.

Gingrich’s rhetoric re: Trump seems to have taken a turn of late.  The initial Gingrich VP buzz coincided with Gingrich becoming a big cheerleader for Trump in the media.  But more recently, he’s been rather critical…first criticizing Trump over the Susanna Martinez flap, and now over this Hispanic judge thing:

No, Trump has always flown off the handle over nonsense. It's his pattern long before he even started running for the Republican nomination. It's just that he has not been getting quite as much of a free pass on it - the public and media are starting to notice that he's a raving nutjob.
