On the local level, until the late 80s/mid 90s, yes, but on the federal level, not really (The city is a toss-up in the 1968 and goes Republican by a lean margin because of who the Nominee is).

Charlie Crist ran in major statewide elections in Florida as a Republican, as an Independent, and as a Democrat. I decided to pit him against himself.

Something I made to try and test ways to better integrate Inkscape maps into infoboxes. It came out pretty well I think

Backstory to this is very bare-bones at the moment, but I may try to flesh it out more in the future.

I recently found out Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA08) created the video game studio responsible for the absolute mess that is Action 52. So I thought up this.

Can anyone tell me how to insert a screenshot into a post? (They're asking me for the image URL, which I don't know, since I just took a screenshot of my screen.)

You need to upload the image somewhere. Websites like imgur don't even require registration. Then you post the direct link with the insert image button. Ideally you scale the image to 500 or 600px.

Use the quote function to see how it's done (this is scaled to 400; the unscaled orginial size would blow up this page):

Imgur.com doesn't work on my computer. I used imgbb.com instead, and I am able to post the link to the image which, when clicked, sends you to a tab with the image on it (among other things). Probably not as good as imgur.com, but it'll have to do. Thanks anyway!

In the general election, Taylor faced no opponent and prevailed with 96% of the vote (with 4% going to write-in candidates):

Katie Blair is elected to the Senate:

(The bottom right corner of the infobox should read "Jon Tester" instead of "Steve Daines.")

Something I did for funsies when thinking about a TL idea I have and desperately need to research to write. If someone is interested in collabing with me, I might fill in more for this TL, but as of right now, this is what you guys get.

Quote
Alfred Mossman Landon (September 9, 1887 – October 12, 1987) was an American politician who served as the 33rd President of the United States from his Ascension in 1953 to 1961. A member of the Republican Party, he was instrumental in Conrad Adenauer's 1932 Presidential Election Bid and became a Key Part of both the Adenauer and Taft Administrations, serving as Vice President and Secretary of Agriculture in both administrations, with the latter being a continuous tenure while the latter was a non-consecutive one.

He was the second Vice President to succeed a dead President in a row following Adenauer's 1947 Assassination, leading to Robert A. Taft becoming President before he himself died of cancer in 1953. Initially, prior to Adenauer's assassination, Landon was the leading candidate to succeed Adenauer should the President chosen not to run, which he was days away from announcing, however, his death led to Taft announcing his intentions to run for a full term in his own right and to continue Adenauer's legacy. Out of respect for the deceased President and the new one, Landon refused to challenge Taft and as a reward, was given the status of Taft's running mate in 1948, regaining the position of Vice President he had willingly given up eight years prior to then Wisconsin Senator Robert M. La Follette Jr due to his help in the passing of the Equal Rights and Opportunities Act.

EDIT : Just Saw that Landon's 2nd Tenure as VP wasn't changed to January 20th, 1949. Imagine that it is.

Ten US Senate Elections from Minnesota for the TL featuring Landon's Predecessor as VP Henrik Shipstead (It's technically Nine, as 1933 was the Special Election for the Seat after he became VP-elect), a Norwegian-American well known for his Isolationist Views (despite not considering himself an isolationist, as his OTL opposition to Smoot-Hawley showed). OTL, he was ousted in the 1946 Primary for the Class 1 Seat by a new breed of interventionist Republicans in Minnesota. Here, due to him having been a key figure in Minnesota politics since 1919 and a former Vice President and close friend with Presidents Adenauer, Taft, and Landon (despite Shipstead disagreeing with them on foreign policy), he is basically the Party boss of the state until the late 60s, when he retires without any candidate he likes as a successor.

I think there is a good chance he could have potentially become President if he won MO 2016. Keep in mind him winning a state like MO would make him a super star and he probably would take up a lot of Pete's and Amy's support base and take the Iowa caucus. He unlike Pete though could use that to springboard to the nomination as representing a state like Missouri vs Minnesota/city like South Bend would probably mean he is more popular with African American Voters and thus he could have become the nominee.
