I think that she had some kind of mental breakdown a decade ago or so. I remember reading an article about it. Not sure if that's what Turnip is mentioning or not.

Even if it doesn't affect his numbers, I think attacking a candidate's wife over her history of depression would be a new low for him.

As someone who watches Race for the White House every Sunday night, I can say that the Bush 41 campaign played very dirty in 1988 and Trump's tactics make Lee Atwater and company look saintly.

Seriously though attacking Heidi Cruz because she had a bout of depression would be disgusting. There is no difference between doing that and attacking a candidate's wife because they had breast cancer.

As someone who has suffered from depression, I find the idea disgusting. There's already such a high stigma around mental illness. We don't need Trump fanning the flames.

Trump is a hard head to get into, but Liz Mair did a great job.

1. She aired the Melania ad, which brought out a rash, angry, emotional response from Trump.
2. She then pointed out that Trump called Megyn Kelly a bimbo for appearing nude in same magazine.
3. Trump threatens to "spill beans" when it turns out the beans are really just seeds. Nobody will care.
4. Trump looks dumb.

Liz Mair did a stand up job on this one. Now, as for Heidi Cruz: Trump likes to gossip and will use stupid gossipy scandals like her depression, when in reality her Goldman Sachs ties, time in the Bush administration, and so on, are much better angles to go after.

There are a couple fantastic ones out there. The Making of Trump was incredible. Knowing about his great relationship with his children was a big selling factor with me from that one. It's really just a beautiful family.

I can't wait for the complete one, hopefully decades down the road.
