Definitely FF! He was not only way more liberal than the church (either then or now) but he was a supporter of charismatics and the quote "If you don't believe in the Holy Spirit or Resurrection or life after death, you should leave the Church" is a definitely Freedom Quote and so true.

This guy is officially my favorite Catholic cardinal now.

Mixed, lean FF overall though it's hard to tell what he was pulling for in the smoke-filled backrooms of Vatican II. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he is a 'text of the documents' kind of Vatican II guy. Would be a clear HP if he tried to subvert Humanae Vitae. Most of all, worlds better than his successor Cdl. Danneels, the Vatican's walking caricature of most things wrong with the Church.
