Yes! Yes! Yes! I can calm down. I was just looking at RRH people comment on how McCain was underperforming from 2010. He's got this one!

Well, McCain wont be easy for Kirkpatrick to topple, but this race is far from over.

Unfortunately McCain doesn't have a 30 year old rando to run against in a Republican wave year this time. Sad

AZ-01 (R): 21% in, Babeu in first with 46%, Rogers a distant second with 22.9, Kiehne in third with 17.8, Bennett in fourth with 9%. Ugh, #NeverBabeu.
Rogers is now down by only 11 points (from 23)! Hopefully Babeu loses.

Haven't been following this race. What's so bad about Babeu?

Before he entered politics, he ran a boarding school and abused children there, I believe.

Yikes. So I'm guessing AZ-01 is Lean D for the general.

Here is one article about his abuse.

This is another article about Wendy Rogers blasting Babeu for that.

Is Arizona's results page worthlessly slow for anyone else?  I'm following AZ-2 D.  Hoping Victoria Steele can pull off a surprise win.
The results have basically been stagnant for about half an hour. I guess Arizona, like the neighboring Nevada, is very slow at counting.

The district went for Romney, I believe, and is R+4, so on paper, it should favor Republicans, but it seems to be a Blue dog district. But if he wins, I think he gets most of the Trump votes, but very few non-Trump votes. I would rate AZ-01 with Babeu Lean D.

43% in, Babeu now up only 10.5%. Rogers is closing in, but unfortunately I don't think it will be enough.

Yeah but I can see very few people voting for trump and not babeu so this race likely comes down to who wins the district at the presidential level

There were about 530,000 votes in AZ in the presidential primary. NYT shows 412,000 counted thus far. How many more do we think there'll be?

Ugh, New York Times just called AZ-01 for Babeu. The rest of the results for the state are taking a while, I'll just go to sleep and wake up to the full results in the morning. It was a fun night!

Babeu is also the gay sheriff that threatened to deport his illegal Mexican lover if he outed him. I completely forgot about this until now. It's pretty crazy he managed to win with all this baggage.

On the AZ site, it says 692,180 ballots cast, but I don't know if that's total or not.

That's the total for both parties, I'm assuming. As of right now it's 807,016.

It's worth noting that Angela Corey, the prosecutor in the George Zimmerman case, lost the GOP primary last night in the 4th circuit judicial state attorney race. It wasn't even close (64/26).

What. An awful, disgusting person. Here's hoping O'Halleran destroys him in November.
