As your next President I will be the people's President. On that note it is my intention always to have my ear to the people so that their desires are expressed. I would be very pleased to have the citizens of Atlasia ask questions and raise concerns. So, I invite the people to step forward and raise their concerns.

(Journalists are also invited.)

My main concern revolves around foreign policy. If it is not accomplished before the end of the 7th session of the Senate I will see that the foreign policy is debated and passed in some form.

Finally, my main accomplishment that I want to acheive is increase the size of the Republic's army and pass a general green bill. Essentially the general green bill would have all sorts of incentives, and programs to help encourage the development of a greener economy for Atlasia.

Foreign Policy, Military and the Environment will be my main legislative concerns.

What type of economic proposals/ideas would you try to introduce while President? Will the economy be a major part of your Presidency?

I'll be very honest. I am not an economist. What I know of economics is essentially the very basics. Unlike what many have said, I am not a socialist, but I do agree that the government should have a hand, not a big hand, but a hand in the economic workings of the country. I also believe that the economy is better served by putting money in the hands of those at the bottom of the economic pyramid.

At the moment I have no grand schemes for the economy, and I don't intend that the economy will be a focus of my Presidency. However, it would be nice if we were given a President that did have notable things during their Presidency, even if it isn't the economy, most of our Presidents are not notable for any accomplishments.

How will you deal with the Mad Cow crisis in Canada? Will you open Atlasia's border to Canadian beef? Also, what is your opinion on the soft wood lumber dispute?

Would you stand up to the current right wing senate and use your veto?

As far as I know, the only bill that's been passed in the Sixth and Seventh Senate where a veto would have been effective was the Fair Wage Act.

The Family Planning Amendments thing would have had at least one more vote for it, as far as I know, if it came to an override, maybe more.

First, open the border up, at current the Atlasian government is violating several free trade agreements and punishing Canadians. On the issue of Mad Cow, that is a job for the Senate, and as Secretary of State have advised them to repeal the ban.

I will use the veto if the need arises. In general, it is my opinion that as the representation of the people the Senate usually has supreme authority, however, if it is my opinion that legislation contravenes the best interests of our citizens I'll get out the stamp and my pen.

Finally, when President I will not be dictated to by any political party or movement and will stand for my principles and for the benefit of the people of this Republic.

I do not presume to speak for Siege, but I would hope that I could persuade the Senate to cut wasteful government spending. The amount of money spent on unnecessary projects is staggering. I would also hope to persuade the Senate to simplify the tax code and to repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax.

What are your plans for the space field?

It is my belief that increase funding should be provided for infrastructure, and education to help rebuild urban centres.

It is my thought that a continuation of the current space program levels of funding and goals are reasonable. While the exploration of space is important, so is funding social services. Continued robotic exploration of Mars and the outer planets seems fine with me, but a manned mission seems to be a more distant goal given the logical physical restrictions.
