Interesting given how it has voted in recent elections.

Have spent considerable time there. Unhappy with the sprawl forming in Tyson's Corner etc, including a lot of Arlington. Alexandria is downright beautiful; would live there if given the chance.

Overall a FR but they need to keep it under control.

This.

But they really got to keep those suburbs in line.  Bring in the rural and the urban, we need no suburbs.

^^^

I'm R-IL because I align with the GOP on a majority of the issues. I don't vote on a region based on its politics.  It's still a great region (despite the politics).

Now that I think about it, most areas of the US I actually like are mostly liberal. I'm a Republican who mostly prefers liberal regions.

A particularly horrifying example of contemporary American urban sprawl and contempt for the environment, made even worse by the grim symbolism of being entirely dependent on the federal government.

Have you been? I have. Lovely people. Some of the nicest I've met.

Surely you're not the sort of person that judges the quality of a place in it's appearance rather than it's people? Because by that criteria Birmingham and Telford would be sh**teholes.

Most of our reasons for being Republicans isn't "there ain't no place for White Southern men in the Democrat Party no more!"

Headquarters of the American military-industrial-intelligence complex that Eisenhower valiantly warned about, only to be ignored.

Horrible Region.

I prefer Southwest Virginia.

One thing NoVA has going for it is the Udvar-Hazy Center, which I visited years ago (I think it was in 2005).

Terrible.

Btw, is Wulfric becoming a moderate hero of BRTD, i.e. only preferring "moderate" areas?  That kind of rigid dedication to incoherent nonsense passing for an ideology is hilarious.
