Much closer than I was expecting.

But sitting at only 1% counted.

Trump is now +5 in Michigan. Most are taken from Detroit . Is this a favorable area for him?

If there are already some returns from both Oakland and Wayne Counties, then why is the CNN statewide numbers only showing the Oakland County returns?

And I'm a little surprised that Metro Detroit appears to be coming in first.

Both areas depend a hell of a lot on where the precincts reporting are, but I think it's safe to say that Kasich needs to win Oakland County to be remotely competitive.

Edit: And Kasich pulls ahead very slightly.

Kasich's best areas should probably be Oakland and Macomb, along with Washtenaw.

Detroit should have very few votes in the Republican primary, but those that do vote there should be pro-Trump. The suburbs is were you'd expect a close race.

Regardless of who wins, its pretty clear Trump has lost momentum across the country this week.

Hoping for a Trump win in Michigan and Cruz in the other three. Got to stop Kasich and show the establishment that the only way they stop Trump is by backing a conservative.

Cruz will be obliterated by Trump in the NE states and in the West.

Out of the few precincts in more rural Michigan, Kasich is doing far worse, Trump and Cruz better. Rubio looks like he'll finish in single digits from these returns. Damn.

It's just like five random precincts, but those are solid results for Trump in rural Michigan, and he's now leading Oakland County with 12% in.

This is not looking bad for Trump at all thus far.

Edit: More Oakland County and another large rural batch.  Not quite as good for Trump, but still solid.

Kasich is getting slaughtered in the rural areas. Hard to see him winning.

Yeah, this is starting to look like another Massachusetts.  Trump is now ahead in Oakland as well.  Also, the Wayne precincts that have reported so far went for Sanders, so they could be highly unrepresentative.
Kasich is leading in Oakland County.

You're using an outdated source, although Oakland may flip back and forth.  Trump is under 100 votes ahead.

ROFL at John King saying there are a lot of Reagan Democrats in Oakland County.  Oakland County is wealthy, socially liberal, and suburban--one of the richest counties in the country.
