Disney Animated Canon Round 6: The Current Decade

With Zootopia being out about a week now, it's time to finish this series...though the other polls are still open for voting and discussion.

Anyway, this set of films covers the current era of Disney Animation, which started officially with the release of Bolt, but probably wasn't solidified until the release of Tangled.

I won't have descriptions just because of how recent they are.

Red for Best, Blue for Worst, if you got two least favorites or best favorites then go ahead with that.

I don't what any of these are. Not one. I mean I know what Winnie the Pooh is but I've never heard of a recent movie made about it.

Best: Big Hero 6. Love it.

Least good: Meh, there's a lot I haven't watched. I guess Winnie the Pooh again.

Have yet to see Zootopia.

Best is between Wreck It Ralph and Big Hero 6, although I'd give the edge to Big Hero 6.
Worst is Frozen, at least relative to the hype.

I was torn between Wreck-It Ralph! and The Princess and the Frog, but I gave the edge to Wreck-It Ralph just because of my old gaming roots and because it's so rare to see a movie with a good cross-generation friendship, and the big premise was deeper.

Frog was probably the best of the Princess movies (except for Mulan), and I appreciate the look of things, Tiana is by far the best of the Princess characters, but it didn't quite push the envelope.


As for worst, torn between the flat and predictable Big Hero 6, which is more fun to watch for the scenery than the actual plot...and Frozen, which is more by-the-numbers than actually flat...it just holds some bad memories and "Let It Go" is a nuisance even now.

Big Hero 6 would probably be the weakest. Remarkably mediocre movie.

Princess and the Frog, if only because it was traditionally animated.  Although I'm not generally a fan of CGI, I might like to see Tangled or Frozen just for the heck of it.  They may actually be good, which is very rare for a computer animated film.
