Hey republicans or right-leaning independents, considering this is going to be Trump vs Hillary, I would like to create a census/list for the future election.

So please, tell me what would be your choice? Hillary? Trump? Write in?

I will progressively update it.

Thanks!

I would still call myself a right-leaning to moderate Independent. It's just that the GOP has become an extremist party. If I qualify, obviously Hillary. But there were only a few Republicans I even would have considered voting for from the onset.

I consider myself slightly left-leaning, but these measures are all so subjective. I'm sure most on here don't see me like that, in small part because of who I support. As a Republican, feel free to include me.

I would have been for Gary Johnson no matter what, but if a clown and a felon are the nominees, it's going to be that much easier.

At this point it's getting less and less likely, I will support Trump.

I would support almost any Republican politician holding office, with very few exceptions for obvious terrible people (Christie and DesJarlais come to mind). But between trump and Clinton, I would have to support Gary Johnson.

I would be forced over to Johnson. I can't stand either of them.

I refuse to categorize myself as "right-wing" just because someone who is left-wing looks at politics strictly from their point of view, but I would vote for Clinton or third party.  I happen to believe both would make pretty bad Presidents.

If I lived in a swing state, I might think long and hard about who I consider the lesser of two evils, but since I don't I'll probably just say "screw it" and vote for Johnson.

Not sure if I'm considered right-wing or not, but I'd just support Gary Johnson even more than I would otherwise.

Gun to my head, I'd pick Trump. But fortunately we still live in something resembling a democratic republic, so I have no obligation to vote for lesser of the two evils, no desire to, and given that I don't live in a swing-state, no need to.

Hopefully the Real World acts like this forum and Johnson does really well. Not that he could win--I'm not delusional--but a good result would be a boost for libertarianism in an increasingly government-loving America.

Indeed.  If the Greens and Libertarians DON'T do good in this very likely scenario then there  is no chance of us ever breaking the idiotic 2 party system.  The American voter is just too stupid.

Probably 3rd party but an outside chance of Trump. I know I've denied that in the past, but depending on the climate at that point I might have to go put a paper bag over my head, walk down to the polls, vote for Trump, and go home and take a shower....for like the next four years.

A Trump vs Clinton election would all kinds of awful, and even the 3rd party candidates are horrible: Bloomberg, Gary Johnson, ugh.

So please, tell me what would be your choice? Hillary? Trump? Write in?

Like Romney, I don't care for Clinton or Trump.  I am considering other candidates.  PA typically has 4 or 5 choices, with a space for legitimate write-in candidates.

So far, the socialists have nominated Mimi Soltysik, the Socialist Workers Party has nominated Alyson Kennedy, the Independent American Party has nominated Farley Anderson, the PSL has nominated Gloria LaRiva, the Prohibition Party has nominated Jim Hedges, and the Veterans Party has nominated Chris Keniston.  The Libertarians, Greens, P&F, and Constitutionalists have yet to nominate.  I'll be watching to see who they nominate.

I kinda like Jim Hedges.  He and I have a lot in common.  He grew up on a farm in Iowa and now lives in Pennsylvania.  I never lived on a farm, but I lived for many years in Iowa before moving to Pennsylvania.  His bachelor's degree is in music from U of Iowa, and he holds a master's in geography from U Maryland.  He's into science and science fiction, and actually has a few peer-reviewed publications.  He has a great respect for Jefferson's ideal yeoman farmer who comes to washington to serve one term and then go back home.  He also loves to set things on fire.  I like all those things as well.  One major issue we differ on is that his party only wants "conservative-minded non-drinkers."  In fact, they're for criminalizing the sale of alcoholic beverages.  I'm something of a lush, so that could be a divisive issue for us.

Doesn't PA have tight ballot restrictions? As I remember, neither Virgil Goode or Rocky Anderson made the ballot, and they were serious contenders. I think I would remember as I was contemplating Goode until I saw his accent knowing I would have to physically write him in. Tongue It was just Stein and Johnson I guess.

Yes, the two corporate-controlled parties have a heavy hand in Pennsylvania and the restrictions are tighter than in many states.  For example, when I lived in California I typically saw 6 or 7 choices for President on the ballot.  (of course there would also be 20 or so legitimate write-in choices)  In my first Pennsylvania election, 2012, I only saw four choices.  I think they were Johnson, Obama, Romney, and Stein.  There were also a few legitimate write-in choices.  In 2008 and 2012 it was not a problem for me.  I voted for Obama in 2008 and for Romney in 2012.  It is only when both the Democrat and the Republican are unappealing that this becomes a problem.

My guess is that there will be at least four named choices on the ballot along with a number of write-in candidates.  I expect that the candidates of the Libertarians, the Green Party, the Constitution Party, the Justice Party, the AIP,  and the Peace & Freedom Party will get enough signatures to either be named on the ballot or be legitimate write-in candidates.  If there's a candidate from one of the smaller parties that you support, such as the Socialist Worker's Party candidate, then you just have to start a petition drive.  I think that August 1 is the last day to file for the general election.  According to Ballotpedia.org, the last time the Socialist Worker's Party had a candidate on the PA ballot was 1976, when they managed to get the required 30184 signatures and pay the ten thousand dollar fee by August 1.

Notably, Pennsylvania also has a "sore loser" law which could effectively prevent a candidate who sought, and failed, to get a major party nomination from being on the ballot as an independent candidate.  No amount of paperwork or money would put Trump on the PA ballot, either named or as a write-in candidate, if he fails to secure the GOP nomination.

Trump > Clinton > Johnson, probably. If Bloomberg jumps in I'd support him.

I know I've denied that in the past, but depending on the climate at that point I might have to go put a paper bag over my head, walk down to the polls, vote for Trump, and go home and take a shower....for like the next four years.
Essentially this, except for the fact that I will, of course, not be voting. I am becoming slightly less negative toward the Trump phenomenon, I guess, though I still prefer all the other Pubs + Bloomberg.

Definitely voting for Trump in this scenario.  Trump was never my first choice, but I'm OK with him and in the end of the day, I think he'll make a pretty good President.

Seeing all of the #NeverTrump folks admit that they would vote for Donald in the general is bringing a tear to my eye. He's not even president yet and he's already bringing the country together. It's beautiful.
