lolz. Mega thrashing!

Remember in 2013 when Hillary was supposed to be competitive in WV against presumptive nominee Christie, which could help make up for her possible loss in NJ?

Didn't Hillary run well here in 2008? Maybe WV just didn't like John McCain

The once-powerful United Mine Workers union long established a progressive streak in West Virginia politics. That is over. West Virginia has just become Religion and cultural values may be all that is left to define political life in West Virginia.

So not only are West Virginians racist, they are sexist as well?
So not only are West Virginians racist, they are sexist as well?

By this reasoning, should Bernie Sanders lose West Virginia, the state is antisemitic as well.

No -- simply a state with even less support of progressive causes than Alabama (blacks) or Utah (non-Mormons).

You guys have to remember that Trump is the perfect candidate for this state. The political views of the typical West Virginian match the political views of Donald Trump. WV is the epitome of a right-wing populist state. Hillary is going to do so bad here. Trump might actually do better than Romney here (despite doing worse than Romney nationwide).

Yeah, and we got laughed at for insinuating otherwise.

Shows how absurd Atlas #analysis is.

Hillary would do well in this state if Christie were the nominee (like everyone thought he'd be back in 2013), but now TRUMP is running. Trump is the perfect fit for WV. WV is the epitome of a right-wing populist state. This might be one of Trump's best states.

A generic R leads her by even more than Trump.

WV might be Trump's best state in the country. UT, ID will slip as many Mormons have high education levels and see right through Trump's circus.

Just 20 years ago in 1996, WV was a solid Democratic state and Virginia was solid Republican. My god you would have been laughed out of the room in the 1990's for predicting Virginia would vote for a black guy with a middle Hussein, and WV would vote against a Democrat who won by 7.5 points nationally.

.

Also: investments in gambling casinos (dens of iniquity -- lots of smoking and drinking as well as gambling, all  un-Mormon; and multiple divorces. Can a right-wing Republican violate Mormon sensibilities sensibilities and lose in Utah? Sure.

High energy state. I'm glad my family is from the literal heart (not kidding-my grandma's childhood home is across the street from the geographical center of WV) of this wild and wonderful place. Country Roads, take me home!

Hopefully if Hillary becomes president she takes the extremely high energy position of moving all nuclear waste from Nevada to West Virginia.

Bad news for Hillary. This means she's likely going to get destroyed in SE OH/SW PA.
