Some tiny sample sizes, but quite interesting nevertheless.

The remaining 14% aren't undecided; they're just holding out for that nice young man John Edwards

Very interesting indeed. I think Clinton is hugging Obama a little too tight that it's turning off the poor sensitive West Virginians.

Pretty sure WV is too late to matter this cycle, at least on the Democratic side.

WV Dems hate the Democratic Establishment. Remember Keith Judd winning over 40% last time?

I understand they are not doing well economically.

Sanders message comes off to me as "never suffer, I'll take care of you", whereas Clinton's is "I'll guard our safety nets but also make sure YOU have the CHANCE to do better".

Tiny sample sizes. It means practically nothing. The GOP figures are credible, but the Dem side should be a little tighter, though not much.

Is it? West Virginia Democrats are probably where Republicans as a whole are at right now when it comes to how they view their party and the establishment.

I think it could simply be that WV hates Obama. In 2008 Hillary won WV by 40 points and in 2012 a prison inmate won 40% in a primary against Obama.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/05/prison-inmate-wins-more-than-40-of-democratic-vote-over-president-obama-in-wv-primary/

Now Hillary is tied to Obama she must be bad so they will vote for literally anyone else, even a old jewish guy from Vermont.

Quite a turnaround from 2008:

That vote was less a vote for Hillary and more an anti-Obama vote.

West Virginians preferred a white woman from a black man.
And now prefer a white man from a white woman.
What a lovely and tolerant state.

^^^Ladies and gentlemen, this perfectly sums up why Democrats get clobbered in WV.

I didn't know that so many West Virginians go on Atlas Forum, look at these posts, then decide to vote Republican.

If Sanders is doing this well in WV, shouldn't he be polling a bit better TN? Maybe not winning there, but at least keeping it in single digits?

Coal may be petering out, but WV has found a way to keep Berning.

As others have said, this is probably just due to their hatred of the Obama administration rather than liking Sanders. Racially, it is probably pretty favorable to Sanders, but I doubt that a lot of the people would actually want someone further to the left than Obama.

Watch Sanders win this on May 10th (that's my bet). If a currently improsoned felon can get 40%, someone with an actual campaign should be able to beat Clinton. Also, apparently Keith Russell Judd has filed paperwork to be on the ballot in WV again. This could be a tight three way race, but I think Samders will prevail.

Wow! That's crazy. Hillary might lose this to Bernie or the prison inmate even if she's the only candidate running. lol

Great news, but WV is voting really late in the primary season so I don't know if Bernie will still be around to win it.

WV and TN aren't really all that comparable despite both being Appalachian.

Hard to believe someone as liberal as Sanders could be winning by that much here. Maybe the conservadems who voted Hillary/McCain in '08 actually left the party...
