John Chafee's only affiliation with the Republican Party lay with his hatred of unions. A gutsy position, considering how heavily unionized RI is.

I really don't know why Lincoln Chafee is in the GOP--maybe he is afraid of all the rude Catholic ethnics who make up the RI Democratic Party

I wouldn't miss him if he were to bolt to the Dems, since he's been a dem in all but name.   Come out of the closet Linc, and be true to yourself.  At least then, the GOP can try to elect a real Republican, and if that fails...well no diff!
