Our legal and historical scholars have carefully reviewed the so-called „Schleswig-Holstein Question” and concluded beyond any doubts that laws of succession does not allow a designated successor of Denmark’s childless king to become their ruler.

Furthermore, Prussia simply cannot stand a continuing oppression of German majority in these duchies by Copenhagen. Denmark will no longer benefit from Prussia being distracted by the illness of our beloved brother, the previous King. The people of Schleswig and Holstein will have their wish to rejoin the German family granted.

Therefore Prussia declared war on Denmark

     The United Kingdom recognizes the historic ties shared by ourselves and the most esteemed Kingdom of Prussia. Together we fought in the Seven Years War, George II and Frederick the Great leading both of our powers to increased levels of greatness. Furthermore, we must remember the Germanic origins of our esteemed Anglo-Saxon ancestors centuries ago. It is with this in mind we hereby announce out intent to fully support Prussia in her actions against the Danes. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland formally declares war on the Kingdom of Denmark.

A reasonable number (to be determined by our ministry, since His Majesty is not good with math) of our ethnically Polish subjects from the eastern provinces should be encouraged to take up the opportunity of settling in Canada, pursuant to the Homestead Act.

Their places should be filled with industrious German colonists, either native Prussians or volunteers from allied states of the German Confederation... preferably the latter so economic and social status in our other provinces wouldn't be too upset.

(Can my great-great-great-grandfather be pressured to emigrate? It would be cool to be born in Canada )
