I predict Cruz will win the Caucus.  Enough of Trump's supporters will forget to vote.

Oh nice and thank you. By any chance do you have a link or anything as to how the delegates are distributed in iowa? Is it based on what place you come in? What counties you win? ect.
Well they are distributed through a county convention or that was how they did it in 2008 and 2012

I think it's a very realistic scenario.

Did anyone else see all the empty seats at the Trump rally in Waterloo?  That might be a cause for concern for him.

Robert Costa says that GOP HQ in IA is predicting heavy turnout, receiving 100s of calls about caucusing every hour.

The clips of Trump at his rallies in the last couple of days have him seem surprisingly low energy. He needs to juice himself up with more testosterone. Cruz has the ethics of a Tom cat in heat.

Glorious news about the higher than expected turnout!!

Did anyone else see all the empty seats at the Trump rally in Waterloo?  That might be a cause for concern for him.

It was at 11am on a weekday so I suspect a lot of people would have been at work. Plus it's still more than what Cruz and Rubio can draw in let alone the others.

Can you really blame him, though, Torie?  If I were in his position, I probably wouldn't have slept much, if at all, over the past few nights.

Results for both parties might come a bit faster this time because, rather than phoning in the results, both parties are using new Microsoft cloud-based apps to send the results to party HQ.  See this video (the first part is just a description of how the Iowa caucus works; skip ahead to 2:50 for discussion of the app):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_oMVkSfFsw

Doesn't it seem a little odd that Rubio's second biggest corporate backer is being trusted with tallying and conveying the results to the media?

Rubio is reałly trying to tempt the wrath from high atop the thing by calling his party a celebration already...

Maybe he knows something we don't.

I don't mind it.  Maybe I'm just used to it after listening to it for years.

Good for Trump, bad for Cruz.

CNN is saying that 1/5 of the voters in some supposed bellwether precinct are first-timers.

That was a very rough estimate. I'd wait for the entrance poll for anything with actual numbers.

At this point I think it would take a good upset for Trump to lose this.

Agreed, should have included that in the post. However, they're also reporting unusually high numbers of people switching parties, partly to vote for Trump but partly to vote against him.

Agreed. It's looking better and better for him, and his likely margin is just growing and growing in my head.
