I heard some guy's gonna run hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of ads for him in Iowa. Could he win? Will he still remain a viable candidate?

A small chance, if he can get young voters to turn out.

A small chance in New Hampshire, and in Nevada.

No, fortunately he proved to be far too low-energy.

Unfortunately, unless there's dramatic change in the next month his chances are very slim. I can see him trying again in 2020 and doing well/winning then, however.

Probably not, especially if he starts getting excluded from the main debates. Same with Fiorina.

Sadly no.
I'm not sure the American people will ever overcome their desire for endless war and fondness of government spying.

Fortunately, I don't think the American people will be embracing Rand's pro-terrorist agenda any time soon.

What does that have to do with anything? That will never be allowed regardless who is president and even if it was legal any such business would be boycotted into oblivion.

Rand Paul has previously expressed some skepticism toward the public accommodations parts of the Civil Rights Act, though to his credit he seems to have moved toward clear support since then. Some still question the authenticity of his support, which I will not be getting into.

As much as it hurts to say this, no...

Cry

If Rubio implodes and the establishment can stomach Rand over Cruz, yes

If the strategy for a candidate named "Paul" is for the establishment to put them over the top, it's looking pretty damn grim.

Fortunately, I don't think the American people will be embracing Rand's pro-terrorist agenda any time soon.

I know this is satire, but the sad thing is that I bet half the Republican Party actually thinks like this. Freaking neocons...

Anyway, I'll end this on a positive note:

JUSTIN AMASH 2020!!!

Or Rand again. Hopefully he'll improve as a politician in that time. I think he's been better in every debate, so maybe he's a good learner.

One of these days people are going to grow tired of statism, right? Or are libertarians, or even pseudo-libertarians, cursed to being unelectable forever? Do people just love free stuff/bombing people/semi-fascism too much? Is statism just too easy to demagogue?

Rand did have a solid chance to win both iowa and new hampshire as late as mid 2015 but with the rise of ISIS and Donald Trump, his chances of winning the nomination have been killed.

The problem is that Rand (and to an extend his father) turn off a large amount of the opposing side-both neocon Republicans, and dovish/civil liberty concerned democrats. Yeah great you're anti 'Empire', you want to cut aid for Israel, you want to roll back NSA but if you oppose gay marriage, oppose abortion rights, want to roll back environmental regulations that even China would adopt then you don't have the power to do what Paul was alleged to have.

Paul's talking point is that the polls are massively under representing the GOP college student vote and this is why his poll numbers are so low. Is there any validity to that?

Not unless a lot of Democrats switch parties to stop Trump, which is not likely, so I voted 'no'.
He makes the most sense on foreign policy, of course.
