They constantly say that Trump will lose in a landslide, when all polling indicates it's actually their puppets like Bush that poll the worst against Hillary. It's clear that Trump gets the most independents and brings in the most non-voters. I get that they would prefer to have somebody dependent on them and the donors, but why the panic and the planning to take him down? Why the lies about how he's going to "destroy" the party, when all evidence points otherwise? He might be their only chance to win.

They're less afraid of him losing than they are of him winning.

Because he's not controlled by them.

Because he's not controlled by them.

Correct!

He's the only candidate that hasn't been bought out. They are terrified that he is a true representative of the party and the people and that he may knock down their Ivory towers

They think Trump will end up losing in a landslide taking down down ballot Pubs, at least in many places (heck he might even take Muon2 down, who has a slug of Hispanics in his district), but yes, if by a freak of nature he actually wins, that would probably upset them even more. It certainly would in my case.

Because he strikes a populist tone, specifically toward Wall Street and business, that has usually only found itself on the Democratic side.  This is naturally not going to sit well with the "establishment" of the GOP, which is and always has been business-friendly.
