Generally speaking, one does not go from Lt. Governor to Vice President in a single election cycle.

All I know about him is that he did a real bang-up job naming his kids...really in touch with regular Americans. Even my extended family knows that fact when they don't follow politics.

Forget Lt. Governor, the Democrats haven't even had a governor as running mate in the last 80 years. And Newsom would be a terrible pick even if he were a governor.

Way waaaaaaay too early in his career, give him some time as governor of California and see where he is in 4 or 8 years time. Then a better judgement call can be made about whether this guy is White House material.

Not now. In the 2020s. I see him as the next Bill Clinton. He's ambitious. If he had won the California governorship in 2010 instead of Jerry Brown, yes, right now he would be on top of the Clinton VP list. Even Bernie Sanders would pick him. He's younger, solidifies the West, and has some appeal to female voters. A risk choice because he has some personal baggage. He was married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, in the Fox News Channel.

Good idea, but I want him as CA governor.

I also think that Lt. Govs are usually not considered for the VP slot. Usually only Senators, Representatives, Cabinet members or Governors.

No, because he's a much better and qualified choice than Julian Castro, Joaquin Castro, and André Carson.
