Only if there's another terrorist attack in a western country before the primaries.

I dunno. Maybe the gas chamber policy proposal will come after that.

Probably in his victory speech after the New Hampshire primary. In all the euphoria following the amazing Bush and Kasich concession speeches that we are all waiting for, Trump will inevitably start talking about what he plans to do to contain the Muslims.

Oh, the M.O. for Trump is to say something outrageous, and then he dials it back a bit. He's already tacked to say that Muslim US citizens that travel abroad will be let back in. He may have also made some mutterings that it will all be temporary.

May I ask why this proposal should bother anyone in the slightest?  Why should you need to be reassured that it's temporary?  It's a very timid approach to doing the right and necessary thing!
And by the way, the "radical" Muslims are those that do NOT want to impose their law through Jihad.  The ones that do are "devout".

It will happen if in the unlikely event he becomes President. If he becomes President (God forbid; I'm not voting for him, no matter what), he will quickly move from a temporary ban on Muslim immigration to rounding them up. And he will do it without a hint of irony.  The language from him the past couple of weeks has been downright scary.

Because most of us are actual human beings with functioning brains and a conscience, as opposed to bigoted xenophobes who've been scared sh**tless by a wanna-be fascist billionaire.

Because some of us know Muslims and thing it would be beyond absurd to forbid them from traveling, not to mention the 1st Amendment.

The answer to the original question is of course "whenever his poll numbers become soft again".

The federal government only has the power to do the things we have allowed it to do; that's what the Constitution is. The federal government is expressly limited by the First Amendment from violating the free exercise of religion. Policies that differentiate between religions as well as policies which single out a religion for special treatment are clear violations of the free exercise of religion. [Church of the Lukumi, 508 U.S. 520 (1993)]. Because the federal government can only do what the Constitution allows it to do, and the Constitution specifically says the federal government may not pass  single out a religion for special treatment, then it is impossible for the federal government to put Muslims in camps or prevent Muslims from coming here without violating the Constitution. Trump, in advocating for discriminatory government policies which single out one religious group, is openly flouting the Constitution, fundamental rights, conservative principles, and logic. He is also being an asshole. This proposal is illegal and deserves universal condemnation. That is why the proposal bothers some of us. That it would be temporary does not make the action any less illegal.

If this policy were to be implemented, when would you repeal it? When there is peace in the Middle East? That sounds like a permanent proposal to me.

Because once the government puts its stamp of approval on discriminating against an entire class of people, never once in history has the resulting discrimination stopped at "just the foreign ones."

Is there a choice for never? I posted a Trump question that had options yes and not sure.  This question sounds just as loaded and unfair as my question.  I'm sure neither will be squawked at or taken down.

Griffin is correct.

In fairness to Trump he has a better record on this matter than Modi...

I do not doubt for a moment that if Trump was a governor of a state and an anti-Muslim pogrom was taking place, he would do nothing to stop it. Indeed, he'd make his usual comments and encourage it. We know that there've been multiple attacks, mini-progroms, if you will, at his rallies.
